Explorer Commander Phillips joined the Aurora Police Explorers in January of
2004.  He was a graduate of Explorer Academy Class 04-01.

During his tenure with the Post he has served as a Field Training Explorer,
Explorer Agent, Explorer Sergeant and a Explorer Lieutenant.  In 2009 he was
promoted to Explorer Commander and is currently the highest ranking Explorer
in the Post.

Explorer Commander Phillips is a graduate of the 2007 Law Enforcement
Explorer Post Advisors Association of Colorado's (LEEPAAC) Leadership
Academy.  He also attended the 2004, 2005, 2006 Colorado Explorer
Conference, 2007 2008 2009 Explorer Tactical Competition in Chandler,
Arizona, and the 2008 EXCON Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Due to his committed service to the Post, Police Department and community he
has received the following awards:  Tenure Ribbon, Community Service Ribbon,
Law Enforcement Service Ribbon, Law Enforcement Training Ribbon, and the
prestigious BSA Eagle Scout Ribbon.  In 2008 he was awarded the prestigious
Explorer of the Year Award and Post Service Award.

In 2009 Explorer Commander Phillips was selected to attended the National Law
Enforcement Explorer Academy hosted by the United States Marshall Service in
Washington D.C.

Explorer Commander Phillips is currently attending the Community College of
Aurora and is majoring in Criminal Justice.
