Explorer Lieutenant Amy Hegarty joined the Aurora Police Explorers in January
of 2007. She was a graduate of Explorer Academy Class 07-01 and was
recognized for being the top academic performer for the class.
During her tenure with the Post she has served as a Field Training Explorer
and Explorer Sergeant. In 2010 she was promoted to the rank of Explorer
Lieutenant and currently serves as the Division A Executive Officer.
Explorer Lieutenant Hegarty attended the Explorer Post Advisors Association of
Colorado's (LEEPAAC) 2008 Leadership Academy, 2008 Explorer Tactical
Competition in Chandler, Arizona, and the 2008, 2009 EXCON Conference in
Las Vegas, Nevada.
She has been awarded the following awards: Tenure Award, Law Enforcement
Training Award, Law Enforcement Service, and Explorer of the Year for 2008.
